Position Description
The Superintendent will oversee all activities on site, such as:
- Supervising & coordinating employees, sub-trades, and suppliers: monitor work progress to ensure efficiency of employees and subcontractors
- Implementing and ensuring adherence to the company’s worksite safety program
- Implementing and ensuring adherence to the company’s ISO 9001 quality control program
- Ordering materials and equipment: ensure all materials and equipment are available when they are needed so as to satisfy the project schedule and budget
- Advising project manager and senior management on issues that could affect the project quality, schedule, or budget and actively participating in finding solutions
- Ensuring all work performed meets or exceeds the standard specified in the construction drawings and specifications
- Performing any additional work as requested by the project manager or senior management in order to ensure successful project completion
Position Requirements
- You have a minimum of 5 yrs. experience in a similar position in the local construction industry
- You hold a trade qualification. Previous experience as a Journeyman Carpenter would be an asset
- A Construction Management diploma would be an asset
- A Civil Engineering Technology diploma or an Architectural Technology diploma would be an asset
- You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- You are very organized and have strong leadership skills
- You are able to work well both independently and as part of a team
- You are comfortable using computers and MS software such as Project, Outlook, Excel, and Word
- You are willing to travel
